NetCologne launches Zattoo IPTV
Berlin/Zurich, November 16, 2023 - NetCologne, one of Germany’s largest regional network operators in Germany and pioneer in fiber optic expansion, telephony and super-fast Internet, has launched the Next Generation IPTV service of Zattoo, following the extension of the IPTV contract with Zattoo for another five years. The successful Cologne-based company has already been one of Zattoo's first German customers, relying since 2016 on the Swiss company's leading European TV-as-a-service platform with to date over 30 customers across the continent.
Netcologne has long supplied the German regional areas of Cologne, Bonn and Aachen (via its subsidiary NetAachen). With its IPTV offering, provided by Zattoo, the company was most recently highlighted in the well-known German platform test publication IMTEST 2023 in April for outstanding quality alongside high-speed Internet and telephony. Special recognition was given to the very fast start-up times for the set-top box, no failures during load times, fast program changes and, in all test scenarios, very good picture quality. In addition to the features tested, the new TV product also builds upon nonlinear cloud functions and even more attractive TV content.
With this launch, NetCologne is available on even more devices than before. In addition to set-top boxes, web services, Android and iOS Mobile, customers of the well-known Cologne-based company now also have access to all big screen options with Apple TV, Amazon Fire with smart TVs from Panasonic, LG, Android TV and Samsung. All devices are fully synchronized, allowing users to start their streaming experience on one device and continue in the same location on another device.
NetCologne users continue to have access to more than 100 TV channels, almost all of them in HD, as well as a wide range of pay TV. All modern nonlinear IPTV functions such as Re-Start, Live Pause, Catch-up and recordings of up to 250 hours enable NetCologne users to enjoy TV content at a time of their choice.
With 13 so-called FAST channels (Free Ad-supported Streaming TV), NetCologne also offers its end customers an even broader range of TV content.
